Solo Characters from Scratch with Andy Bolduc
This workshop will meet Sunday, June 7th from 3pm-5pm

In this workshop, you'll create original, showcase-ready solo characters from scratch, learning repeatable techniques to rapidly generate tons of ideas for characters, bring them to life using improvisational techniques, and revise them for maximum comedic impact. In the first half of the workshop, we'll walk through the character creation process from idea to structure to execution. In the second half, we'll flesh out our characters and hone them through individual feedback. By the end, you'll have the skills to build hilarious characters in your own voice and the confidence to blow audiences away.

Instructor Bio:
Andy Bolduc was a Second City Mainstage cast member from 2022 to 2025. In addition to teaching sketch and improv at iO, he co-hosts the podcast Idiotically Speaking with Chris Kattan and makes videos with his sketch group Cigarette Sandwich.
