WEEKEND INTENSIVE: Level Two: Improv Scenework & Game

Saturday, May 16, 2026 @ 11:00 AM EDT • $218.74 (includes fees)

Description
Our Level Two class in longform improv comedy takes the basic tools of improvisation that you learned in Level One, and teaches you how to use them to create rich, compelling, and hilarious improv scenes. You'll learn how to recognize the game of the scene, and seize opportunities for patterns, connections, and heightening within and between your scenes that will serve as the building blocks for a longform piece. The class will culminate in a graduation performance at The Commodore.

CLASS DATES
Unlike our regular eight-week session, this weekend intensive compresses the Level Two experience into four fun-filled days.

Dates are as follows:

Class 1: Saturday, May 16: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Class 2: Sunday, May 17: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Class 3: Saturday, May 23: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Class 4: Sunday, May 24: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM

As this session is a bit of a marathon, each class will contain brief breaks!

The class graduation performance will take place on Sunday, May 24 at 6:00 PM!

AGE REQUIREMENT
Unless otherwise stated, all improv classes at The Commodore are for adults 18 and up. Please be on the lookout for youth offerings in 2026!

WHAT IF I NEED TO MISS A CLASS? CAN I STILL SIGN UP?
We'll be honest about this: Unlike with our eight-week sessions, in the case of an intensive, it really doesn't work to miss any classes! If any of the four dates don't work, please consider delaying your enrollment to a future class! You can get in touch with us at [email protected] if you have questions about this.

FREE ADMISSION TO ALL COMMODORE SHOWS & WEEKLY DROP-IN
Your Level One class enrollment comes with two great benefits! During the period of your class enrollment, you receive free admission to all theater-produced shows *and* our Weekly Improv Drop-In Class on Thursday nights. We encourage you to avail yourself of these great perks!

In the case of the intensive, we are happy to extend this benefit to the months of April, May, and June.

INSTRUCTOR BIO
Daniel Dagesse
discovered his love of improv after seeing the troupe Penguin Knife Fight at Tampa Bay Comic Con and thinking, “I want to do that!” Since 2018, he's performed across Florida (and a little beyond) with multiple teams, including the ensemble Deviled Eggs and duo troupes like Duo 17 and Duh-NANDA-daM.

Daniel trained under several respected Tampa Bay improvisers including Liz Marcucci and Danny Mora—teachers he now proudly joins at The Commodore. He also teaches and performs at Florida Studio Theatre in Sarasota, where he leads weekly drop-in classes and performs in their Saturday night shows.

With experience working with groups of all sizes, Daniel brings energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for helping students feel confident and creative onstage. He’s excited to guide new improvisers at The Commodore, continuing the cycle of inspiration by turning “I want to do that” into “I’m doing it!”
