In level 4, students tackle the improv format that started it all- the Harold. The Harold was first developed in the late 1960’s by the improv troupe, “The Committee” in San Francisco who were directed by Del Close, widely considered to be the “father” of improv. He later brought the Harold to Chicago and perfected it at the improv Olympic theater. The Harold borrows devices from the legitimate theater to create an improvised piece that has the depth and complexity of a short play. Students in level 4 will leverage their scene work, character, and group mind skills to create artistically satisfying and hilarious improvised shows. All real deal improvisers all over the world know the Harold! Level up your game by registering today!
