Spokane Mini-Intensive with Maddy

Spokane is a long form format which uses a combination of a monoscene and tag edits to build a show that has space for grounded scenework as well as fast, funny scenic runs. Whether you're learning this structure for the first time or just want some more practice, this is a great format to have in your improviser's toolbox!
A Mini-Intensive? We've gotten lots of good student feedback about 2 or 3 hour workshops sometimes feeling too short to both learn a new thing AND get some reps with notes to build confidence actually doing the thing; especially when learning a format. So here's a new thing we're trying out: 4 hours of joyful learning and practice (with a short break in the middle) so you leave with a solid grip on the subject.
Prerequisite: Any Ensemble class
Maddy Benjamin is the Program Manager and Facilitator of Fun at Happier Valley Comedy. She got her start in improv in 2010 with IT: Improvisational Theater at the College of William & Mary, and joined the HVC community in 2017. Maddy is a founding member of "Not In Charge" and "2nd Saturdays Presents," and performs with several HVC casts. You'll also catch her teaching advanced improv classes and Improv 3, hosting the monthly Comedy Quiz Show on WHMP, solving the NYT crossword puzzle, and serving as the unofficial laugh track for any show or class she attends.

- Students must be 18+ years. (In actual years, not maturity.)
- Please note that once you make your purchase, your spot in the class is non-refundable unless we have 48 hours notice and we can get someone to fill your spot.
