Are you someone with a lot of ideas and nowhere to put them? Do you watch SNL and think, "Hey, I could do that!"? If so, then Sketch Comedy 101 is for you!

In this 12-week course, you’ll learn a variety of approaches to crafting sketch comedy scenes including techniques for idea generation and execution and sketch styles so you can liberate your genius ideas and let them fly! Whether you’re naturally funny, filled with funny ideas or just curious about the wild world of written comedy, then join us for Sketch Comedy 101.

During the first 8 weeks of class the ensemble will learn techniques and practice rehearsing and writing sketch. The final 4 weeks will focus on preparation for a showcase of your created material and culminate in a two-night-only public performance!

Classes will be held Monday evenings 6p-9pm beginning 8/25 and running through 11/10. Showcase will be held 11/14 at 7pm at PSCA.

This class is open and available to anyone, regardless of experience level: writers, performers, writer-performers, and the comedically curious!

Lickety-Split co-founder Scott Morehead will run this class and direct the final show.

Scott Morehead is a writer-performer and former member of the e.t.c. ensemble at The Second City in Chicago where he co-wrote and starred in the e.t.c reviews Soul Brother, Where Art Thou? and A Red Line Runs Through It, among several other shows. Originally from Iowa, Scott has also performed with The Second City's Touring Company (Mighty, Mighty!), The Improvised Shakespeare Company, Baby Wants Candy and at iO with The Late 90's. He has recently graced the Thingamajig stage in A Walk in the Woods and Tiny Beautiful Things.  Since his wife coerced him into living a rural life, he is excited to share his gift for razor-sharp satire and character work by helping the greater Pagosa Springs community unleash their own comedic creative potential.
