Level 1 Intro to Kickstand Improv
Get your feet wet by finding the fun in the spontaneity and collaboration of improvisation. Whether you’re looking for a fun way to improve your teamwork and communication skills or are serious about developing your voice as a comedic performer, this class equally honors both of these goals (and might even push you to expand those goals). Students will learn the power of agreement, honesty, and spontaneity to build a successful scene and have fun doing it.

ABOUT MICHAEL KNACKSTEDT

Michael Knackstedt is a Portland, Oregon-based improviser, actor and writer. Michael has trained at Kickstand Comedy Space, The Liberators Training Center, Curious Comedy Theater, The Ape Theater, and Deep End Theater in Portland. He has performed at the Stumptown Improv Festival, The Vancouver International Improv Festival, and the LA Indie Improv Festival.
When not obsessing over music or challenging you to an air hockey match, he can perform with his Harold team King Ricky and The Ape Theater house team Rufio. He produces and performs in Art-Mondo at Kickstand Comedy Space, a monthly showcase of improv comedy inspired by live music, literature, and media.
He also produces, writes and performs in Show Ridiculous, a public access comedy variety television show on Open Signal: Portland Community Media.
