Narrative Hip Hop Improv
This narrative hip hop musical workshop will start with hip hop improv basics including building confidence in your voice and expanding character philosophy through song. Afterwards, we will dive into creating character point of view, forming our narrative, and how to progress our story through rap. By the end of the workshop, students will perform an original hip hop musical narrative with their classmates!

Teacher Bio:
RJ Williams is a seasoned improvisor and educator who teaches at WGIS in Los Angeles. Previously, he taught long-form and hip-hop improv at The Second City New York. His career spans stages across the U.S. and Europe, including annual runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with the acclaimed ensembles Baby Wants Candy and Shamilton. A veteran member of hip-hop improv group North Coast, RJ brings a multidisciplinary background in playwriting, drumming, and music production to his teaching.

Student Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older to enroll.
- Students under 21 cannot participate in shows, as the venue is 21+.
General Class Policies (Core Classes & Electives)
- Classes require a minimum of 8 students.
- Instructor(s) may change as needed.
- Advancement to the next level requires attendance at 5 of 7 classes.
- One make-up class is available for Level 1 and Level 2 students only.
- Students may repeat any of our core courses (Level 1-6b) at a 30% discount, if space permits.
Tuition Policy
- Tuition is non-refundable.
- Tuition may be credited toward a future session with at least 2 weeks’ notice before the current start date.
- Credits are valid for up to 6 months.
