iO Improv Level 5: Mondays from 7-10pm

This level is the culminating class of the iO program and is followed by an 8-week run of performances on Sunday nights from January 10th, 2027 through February 28th, 2027, for which you do not pay tuition.

Level 5 pushes students into a true ensemble mindset and challenges the groups to create their own unique longform piece. Inspired by their work in Level 4 and all the previous levels, students will work together under the guidance and assistance of their instructor to brainstorm and generate a new, unique form that will be performed on stage. This level allows for a lot of personalized notes and diagnostics from the instructor and really helps students grow as individuals while also operating in an ensemble state of mind.

At the end of this 8 week course, the students will spend the following 8 weeks performing their devised piece on stage at iO every Sunday night. Following the completion of level 5 and their performances, all iO graduates will be eligible to audition for the House Team program at iO, allowing them to continue their education and perform on a coached ensemble with weekly rehearsals and semi-weekly shows, sponsored by the theater.
