CLASS DESCRIPTION
Story is everything! Whether it's inspiration for a short story or a short film, or to improve your public speaking skills, or even just to understand yourself a bit better, this class is for you. In this six-week class, you'll learn what makes for a great story, and how to connect and engage with your audience. This is a generative course to gain confidence in your own voice. In the end, you will have a collection of 5-7 minute stories. This class will culminate in a performance of one of your stories. 

Prerequisite: No previous writing or performance experience is necessary. Open to novice and veteran storytellers alike.

CLASS DATES
Class runs for six weeks, from Sunday, November 10 through Sunday, December 15. There will be a class showcase on Sunday evening, December 15.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Victoria Dym is a graduate of Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Clown College with a degree in Humility; a Bachelor of Arts, in Philosophy, from the University of Pittsburgh; and a Masters of Fine Arts, Creative Writing-Poetry from Carlow University. Victoria is the author of four poetry collections and she was cast for the Risk! Live from Orlando storytelling show and her story, One Shot was selected for the podcast. Her short story, The Linzer Torte, was published in The Scribe Magazine, January 2020 issue.

Victoria is an improviser who appears regularly at the Commodore, and has performed at the Countdown Improv Festival for the past seven years. She also performed with the house team, Dear Aunt Gertrude, at the Box Theater for four years. She is a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader and works as a medical patient actor for three local universities.
