Fast-paced tag-based fun awaits with the Spokane show structure.
This workshop introduces the basic goals and fundamentals of the longform show structure Spokane (aka Pretty Flower). Students will learn the essential mechanics of the form, how to establish sturdy and memorable Source Scenes, and how Tags can be used most effectively to explore the world of the show and get us to the silliest and least expected places.

Prerequisite: Completion of the Union Comedy core curriculum (all 4 levels) & current House Team performers -- or by emailing [email protected] for permission

Instructor Bio: Pat Kearnan is a lifelong comedy fan who took his first improv class in 2012, got hooked, and never looked back. His affinity for everything improv continued to expand over the years as performing turned into teaching turned into producing, and in 2018 he co-founded Union Comedy where he has served as President and CEO since 2021. This and other creative endeavors have allowed him to perform in front of sold-out crowds at venues like The Rockwell, Crystal Ballroom, The Wilbur, and Fenway Park. He's also performed with the Dropkick Murphys (not kidding). At Union Comedy you can usually catch Pat onstage with Neighbors, the longest-running longform team in the city, coaching house teams Babe and Medusa, or running tech.
