Applied Astrology
Thursdays 5/14-6/11 from 7-930p
This 5-week advanced workshop explores new ways to find your way on stage. By playing with the twelve zodiac signs, and maybe some tarot, students will find ways to embody their elements. Each week will highlight the unique vibe and strength of the elements and modalities as filters in improv scenes. Come learn how to leverage your own natal chart or borrow from your less present energy. Stretch your limits of skills you already have. Bring a little witchiness with you onstage. Channel a new way to guide your choices and scenes. For students who have taken this class before, this will be all new stuff! Astrology knowledge not required (but welcome). Prior improv experience preferred.
Prerequisite: Completion of Union Comedy School curriculum or by permission (email [email protected])

Instructor Bio: Emily Holland started performing improv comedy in 2004 & got her first laughs in 2007. After receiving her BA in Theatre Arts from Clark University, she continued to work in their Visual & Performing Arts Dept. as adjunct faculty and student advisor, until moving to Los Angeles in 2014 (the first time). For 15+ years, Emily has worked on and off stage at ImprovBoston, UCB, iOWest, Impro Theater, Dirty South Improv, and now, Union Comedy. She has been fortunate to perform & teach workshops at comedy festivals all over North America and Japan. Her most cherished time on stage was a duo with Emo Phillips on Valentine’s Day.
