Improv Level 4: Ensemble & Group Improvisation
6 weeks, starts 4/28/26
Instructor TBD
Class Dates: April 28, May 5, 12, 19 25, June 2
Class Show: Friday, June 5
Level 4 is where improvisers stop thinking about just their own scene and start thinking about the show as a whole.
This course focuses on ensemble awareness and group support. Students learn how to enter and exit scenes with purpose, recognize what the show needs, and use tools like tag-ins, walk-ons, and scene painting to heighten and support what is already happening.
Rather than introducing new ideas, the focus is on reinforcing and expanding existing patterns across scenes. Players begin to recognize how moments connect, how ideas return, and how a group can build something cohesive together.
Throughout the course, students will practice group scenes, ensemble decision-making, and the rhythm of a full improv set.
By the end of Level 4, students will be able to support not just a scene, but the entire show. They will make choices that strengthen the ensemble and keep the work clear, connected, and intentional.
Level 4 is for students who have completed Level 3 or have equivalent experience and are ready to think beyond the scene and play as part of a full ensemble.
