Want to listen more closely, communicate more confidently, and feel more comfortable thinking on your feet? Improv isn’t only for the stage. This course uses the skills that make improv work, including adapting, collaborating, and staying present, to help you navigate everyday situations with greater confidence and flexibility.
This six-week course is designed especially for busy professionals, students, and parents who want to pause, develop new skills, and experience the benefits of improv, but who may not have an interest in performing onstage.
We’ll focus on active listening, communication, collaboration, and creativity. Expect a healthy mix of short lectures, personal reflection, group discussion, and, of course, practical exercises that let you learn through doing.
Each participant will choose a personal area of focus related to work, parenting, friendships, or other relationships, with follow-up during and after the term to help the lessons stick.
Unlike our core curriculum, this class does not include a class show or final performance. While it is designed for those who have never improvised, all are welcome to enroll.
Limited to 12 students to ensure plenty of personal attention.
We offer improv classes and occasional sketch and stand up offerings from top local and visiting instructors. Classes take place in hear.say theater or our new training center.
