A Unique Opportunity: Improv for Fun & Documentary Project

This June, Full Tilt Comedy is offering a special 8-week “Improv for Fun” entry level course that goes beyond the basics of unscripted play.

This session offers a rare opportunity to be part of a documentary filmed by award-winning filmmaker Claire Hannah Collins. Known for her work with the Los Angeles Times and her current collaboration with Interlochen Arts Academy, Claire was inspired to create this film after taking this very class at Full Tilt Comedy. Having experienced the "yes, and" philosophy firsthand, she is returning to capture the transformative power of improv in our community.

About the Class
Improv for Fun is designed specifically for those with limited or no prior experience. We create a high-support environment where you can dive into the world of comedy in a low-pressure way. This class is a perfect fit for:
  • The "Just for Fun" Crowd: Challenge yourself to try something new and exciting, even if you never intend to perform for an audience.
  • Aspiring Performers: Build a solid foundation and gain the confidence to eventually take the stage.
  • Connection Seekers: Meet new people and build genuine friendships through high-energy, creative play.
  • Whether you're here to find your funny or just looking for a meaningful way to spend your summer, this will be an experience unlike any other in Northern Michigan.

Course Details
  • When: Tuesdays in June & July, 6:30-8pm (June 9, 16, 23, 30 and July 7, 14, 21, 28)
  • Duration: 8 Weeks 
  • Where: 20Fathoms Conference Room
  • Instructor: Dave Thomas
  • Experience Level: Absolute Beginner / No experience necessary.
  • Note: Participation includes appearing in the documentary production.
