The Improv for Educators workshop will explore a few of the myriad ways improv comedy and teaching overlap. In this workshop participants will learn the very basics of the "Yes, And" philosophy, and how to translate that to their classrooms for increased student engagement, true community building, and better teaching practices. Along with learning some fun games to bring back to the classroom, participants will learn how to better listen to their students, feel more comfortable pivoting in the moment, and the power of embracing the chaos.

About the Instructor:
Ashley Davis is a seasoned improvisor and middle school ELA teacher. When she isn't teaching children to respect the Oxford comma she is teaching adults how to act like children. She believes strongly that improv is for everyone, and that learning improv principles will make even the best teacher even better!
We offer improv classes and occasional sketch and stand up offerings from top local and visiting instructors. Classes take place in hear.say theater or our new training center.
