Improv for Creatives Drop-In APRIL

Thursday, Apr 23, 2026 @ 6:30 PM EDT • $20.00 (includes fees)

Description
Are you engaged in the local arts scene? Have some experience on stage, in improv, or performance? More than once has someone described you as their "artsy friend" and you're not sure whether or not it's a compliment? (IT IS...)

We're rolling out a special improv drop-in for creatives in our community to come express, play, and feel inspired. Experience is welcome, but not required-- just an open mind and a willingness to have some fun!

The two currently-scheduled drops-ins (April & May) will work as stand-alone workshops, but the instructors will structure the lessons to build on each other as well (they are not the same lesson).

April 26 Instructor: Alex Edinger
Time: 6:30-8:30pm
Location: Traverse City Philharmonic Center

INSTRUCTOR BIO
Alex Edinger

After giving up his dreams of becoming an Ultimate Frisbee superstar, Alex went back to his roots of making silly things up on the spot. He has trained with The Second City and the Annoyance theaters in Chicago and has been a member of Full Tilt since March of 2024. He can be seen around town performing regularly with local long-form teams Super Special and It Takes Two-ish. Alex holds a BA in English from Michigan State; after a few years of teaching, however, he realized money can be nice, so he got an MBA from Alabama. He works in digital marketing.

Alex will teach according to his playing style, which prizes sustained emotional commitment and confidently “finding the funny” and then playing out the game of the scene. Improv has had a profound impact on Alex’ life, and he hopes to pay it forward.
