Improv Science Theater 4000 is an improv comedy variety style show combining both short and long form improv themed by local scientists who come to the stage to share their research! Each show, the ensemble performs with a different rockstar science researcher! Improv Science Theater 4000 combines the intricacies of science and the joys of improv in the best way possible! Each show, the cast invites a different scientist to talk about their current research, the long-term implications of this research, and their scientific journey. In between each of these talks, the group performs both short and long form improv using the scientist as inspiration. Come out and laugh with the ensemble and you might even learn a thing or two about science!
Magical Lying Hour clangs two disparate performers together to create a show at odds with itself. On one side an actor who performs through meticulous memorization and practice, on the other side an improviser who delights in creating and destroying new worlds through frantic discovery. They must build a scene together, the actor needing to find ways to maintain the reality of the world while sticking to their script and the improviser needing to commit to one reality as the actor slowly reveals it. For Magical Lying Hour every night is opening night.
Jugtown Mountain is a musical improv duo is made up of long-time vets of the NYC and Chicago improv scenes, Shannon Krowicki and Jon Bander! Brand spanking new to Asheville, Jugtown Mountain is ready to bring some musical improv magic to Greenville's ear-holes and eyeballs!
