Improv 401: Advanced Scene Work – Sinking Deeper into the Craft with Asa Erlendson.
This class invites improvisers to refine their scene work with precision, emotional depth, and dynamic interplay. Students will shift from simply reacting to actively creating the scene’s tone, stakes, and rhythm.
Prerequisite: Completion of Improv 301 or instructor approval
Focus: Scene construction, nuanced character work, thematic exploration, and working as a team and scene partner.
Throughout this course, you will engage in a variety of exercises, scene work, and group activities designed to hone your skills and boost your confidence as an improviser. Our experienced instructor and top Colorado improviser,
Asa Erlendson, will provide personalized feedback and guidance to help you grow and succeed in your improv journey. You might know Asa from the long-running hit improv team, Mouse Couch!
The class meets on Mondays from 6:30 to 9:00 pm, for 7 weeks starting Monday, September 8th through October 20th, 2025, with a subsequent showcase performance date TBD. The classes will be held at the Dairy Arts Center in Boulder (Sacred Spaces room).
