Participant Waiver and Release (Required) • PARTICIPANT WAIVER, RELEASE, AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. THIS GIVES UP CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS. By checking this box, I agree to the following for every Civic Duty Improv class, workshop, Free Intro Night, rehearsal, and show I attend (“Activities”): Who this covers. “Released Parties” means Hip Pocket Consulting LLC, doing business as Civic Duty Improv, its owners, instructors, employees, and volunteers, and the Arts Council of York County and its Center for the Arts, including their officers, employees, and volunteers. The activity. Improv involves physical movement, quick changes in direction, close contact with other people, and performing in front of others. Risks include slips, trips, falls, collisions, strains, sprains, and other injuries, as well as emotional discomfort. I can stop or sit out any exercise at any time, and I will tell the instructor about any limits I have. Assumption of risk. I am 18 or older. I take part voluntarily, I am physically able to participate, and I knowingly accept all risks of the Activities, whether known or unknown. Release. To the fullest extent allowed by law, I release and agree not to sue the Released Parties for any injury, illness, loss, or damage to me or my property arising from the Activities, INCLUDING CLAIMS CAUSED BY THE ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASED PARTIES. This release does not cover gross negligence or intentional misconduct. Medical care. If I am hurt or ill and cannot speak for myself, I authorize the Released Parties to seek emergency medical care for me, at my own expense. Conduct. I will treat others with respect, follow the instructor’s directions, and respect other people’s physical and personal boundaries. Civic Duty Improv may remove anyone whose behavior is unsafe or disrespectful. Refunds follow the posted refund policy. Responsibility for my actions. I am responsible for any damage or injury I cause through my own careless or intentional conduct. General. This agreement is governed by South Carolina law. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. It applies to all Activities I register for or attend. I have read this agreement, I understand it, and checking this box has the same effect as my signature.

Missing a class • Life happens. Let Connor know you’ll be out, and we’ll work out a make-up with you. Improv 101 only: The show at the end is a team effort, and each week builds on the last. If you miss more than two classes, you’ll join the next group’s show instead, so you hit the stage ready and your scene partners can count on you.
