Tuesdays 7:00-9:30 | June 30 – August 18 (8 classes)
This is your first step into the exciting world of improv! Whether you're looking to meet new people, boost your confidence and creativity, become a better performer, or all of the above: this fun and welcoming introductory course is for you.
In this class, you will learn how to:
➢ Get out of your head and tap into your expressive & creative self
➢ Collaborate more effectively with others
➢ Create fun and hilarious characters on the spot
➢ Speak in front of others with confidence and joy
➢ Perform fully-improvised scenes that you feel proud of!
Improv 1 culminates in a student showcase, where every student performs 2 two-person scenes for an audience of friends and family. This showcase is optional, but encouraged!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Josh Holober-Ward (he/him) has been studying theater and improv since his youth, and performing & teaching professionally since 2015. He is the founder & director of Roll Play: An Improvised Adventure, a comedic tribute to tabletop RPGs which has grown into one of the most successful improv shows in Philadelphia. He is a firm believer in the life-changing power of play, and is passionate about welcoming new people to the joyful & creative world of improv, having taught over 25 8-week introductory courses in the past 10 years. To this date, he has taught hundreds of students who were completely new to improv, including dancers, farmers, nurses, parents, teachers, scientists, stand-up comics, social workers, psychologists, news reporters, and TWO professional mermaids. Improv is for everyone!
