Sisters Kali and Janée Marie Meadows are Hot Metal Playground. Trained at the Groundlings, they grew in Northern Michigan up on whole milk, sketch comedy, and a relentless DIY spirit, filming camcorder sketches and building worlds from whatever was lying around. As kids, they once gaslit their grandma into thinking her spotless car was messy, just to see how far they could take the bit. Their voice is fearless, weird, and rooted in unforgettable personalities shaped by a lifetime of creative mischief and that uncanny, unspoken shorthand only sisters from Northern Michigan who like milk share. Their sketches feature bold, memorable characters that feel larger than life, and sometimes just a little too real. Sketch Reassignment Surgery is an all-trans sketch comedy show featuring four trans femmes, three trans mascs, and two enbies - diverse in gender AND ethnicity alike (it’s a miracle!). None of us are allowed to serve in the military, so instead we serve up present post-op comedy for a world still in transition™ with sketches navigating the many simulacrums of gender, satirizing trans exclusionary ideas, and celebrating the joy and freedom that come from being part of the trans community.
