Good Neighbors is our monthly Improv Comedy show where we invite a notable guest to tell stories that inspire a hilarious hour of scenes and characters, raising money for a local nonprofit chosen by the guest. September’s guest is Lorena James, raising money for the Buffalo Shapers!
Lorena James is a Buffalo native, raised on the city's East Side and educated at Nichols School. She is now pursuing her MBA at the University at Buffalo as a WNY Prosperity Fellow. Lorena founded Roundtree Resilience LLC, a conservation and communications consultancy named in honor of her great-great-grandmother, Lorena Roundtree, through which she speaks publicly, leads workshops, and shapes communications strategy for nonprofits. A modern dancer at heart, Lorena weaves art and sustainability together in everything she does, using creative storytelling to move Buffalo toward a more resilient future.
The Buffalo Shapers is a local hub of the Global Shapers Community, an initiative of the World Economic Forum that connects 500 city-based hubs of young people around the world. Open to young adults between the ages of 18 and 28, the group brings together those passionate about cross-cultural collaboration, community action, and civic engagement. The Buffalo Shapers leads social impact campaigns addressing issues including medical debt, food access, and public transportation. Buffalo Shapers is currently welcoming applications for its second cohort of members.
