Are you curious about improv? Well try out Drop-in Improv Class! Our Drop-In class is Faraway's no-pressure under an hour weekly opportunity for you to learn more about our long form improv and maybe meet our wonderful community. Classes are instructor-led and consist of group games and scene drills. Stick around after class for Monday Student Jam, where you can just watch other students improvise or jump on the Faraway stage to create your very own scene!

Class space is limited.
By enrolling in a class, workshop, or drop-in you consent  to the following:
  • Faraway Theater's Code of Conduct 
  • Allowing Faraway to use images of you taken during theater events on our social media platforms and/or related marketing material.
By enrolling in our classes students will also have access to discounted/free shows and jams for the length of the entire term including: 
  • House Night, student jams, and more are free for active students
  • All other Friday shows are half-off (unless otherwise stated)
We now offer payment plans for all of our classes click 'Pay via payment plan' to enroll.

Students moving through our 8-week core curriculum on the Performance Path will be responsible for the fulfilling the following:
  • Age Requirements: You must be 18 and up
  • Class Admission/Placement Prerequisites: Other than 101, you must successfully complete the previous class before you are allowed to advance to the next class. If you have significant previous improv performance experience and would like to be placed into 201 or above, please complete our class placement request form by visiting farawaybham.com/placement.
  • Attendance Requirements: You can't complete the class and advance if you have more than 2 absences.
  • Makeup Day:  If classes are cancelled, Faraway will make best efforts to hold a makeup days on the weekend of Week 7. 
  • Show Requirements: You are required to see at least two improv shows (not student jams) at Faraway in order to successfully advance.
  • Advanced Studies Placement Requirements: Completing the the Performance Path does not guarantee placement into the Advance Study Program. Placement in Advanced Study is based on teacher and/or Artistic Director's approval.

There are no class refunds available at this time. Faraway Theater is located at 1211 27th Pl S Suite 20, Birmingham, AL 35205. Parking is available in the lot and on the street.
