Fall of the High School Valedictorian

Wednesday, Jul 15, 2026 @ 9:30 PM CDT • Suggested: $7.00

Description
20 years of depression in 60 minutes.

A multimedia solo show that looks at the American education system through the lens of the artist's mental illness. A raw, unflinching performance that uses storytelling, songs, pictures, and videos to shed light on an invisible disability.

Audiences have called it:
"a dark but very well crafted walk through a dimly lit, grungy, and pain-studded memory lane"
"a journey of pain and survival with a twist of humor and hope"
"radical honesty at its best"

Since speaking as Valedictorian at his High School commencement, Philip Simondet has spent a couple of decades converting his once limitless potential into opportunities missed.  Luckily, he wrote this show before there was no potential left. He's an improviser, musician, podcaster, teacher, and writer... and still doesn't like himself.
