Description
Ready to level up? This six-week series builds on the fundamentals from our Basics class and expands into the world of long form improv. We’ll show you how to connect scenes into full, dynamic sets with structure, momentum, and fun. The final class includes a small showcase for friends and family.

We’ll explore tools like “game of the scene,” along with edits, walk-ons, and tag-outs that support strong ensemble play. Scenes will branch out, call back, and build to satisfying payoffs while giving you space to take risks and get big laughs.

About: This class is taught by Michael Friedman, who has studied and performed improv at the Aloha Theatre, Queen City Comedy, Camp Improv Utopia, The World's Greatest Improv School, and the Orange County Improv Festival. He has played with The Hi Line, HI-larious, and (the non-HI-prefaced team) Brief Manifesto, as well as being regularly featured on the improv comedy podcast "Makeshift Play." Around town, he's known for frequenting small cafes on weekends and hosting the nerdy night at Ola Brew as everyone's favorite trivia host that isn't Ronnie Velveta. Michael loves performing and continuing to learn about improv through classes, shows, books, podcasts, and talented friends around the world.
