Character Commandos

Longform improv experience required.

Create characters and sketch material using improv techniques. In this workshop, students will learn the elements of character creation, as well as the Commando and Co-montage forms to quickly generate hilarious characters for the stage.

Michael Bonow is a Chicago-based comedian, writer, and actor originally from Atlanta. A graduate of The Second City Conservatory, he specializes in smart, character-driven sketch comedy and improvisation. Michael has performed with Second City ensembles, Dynamic El Dorado, RoleCall Theater, and Whole World Improv Theatre, and has written, directed, and starred in original sketch revues. He also appeared on MTV's Revenge Prank. Whether on stage or in the writers' room, Michael brings sharp writing, memorable characters, and an energetic performance style that connects with audiences.
