The Groundlings have one weekly long-form show called “The Crazy Uncle Joe Show.” It is Los Angeles’s longest running long-form improv set, currently at 24 years!
The format is fast, loose, and fun. Basically, a Montage form executed with clap edits. There’s no specific agenda regarding narrative, game, or structure. It’s a joyous, open, quick-scene-based improv workout.
This format allows the cast to follow whichever comic threads they choose. Play different characters, cut to non-linear ideas, go forward and backward in Time. It’s all open. And - it allows for a lot of notes on a lot of different aspects of improv. This form will encourage your boldest all-around performance.
Some basic improv experience is recommended.
