CLOWN BOSS: INTRO TO MODERN CLOWN

In this four-hour workshop, THE CLOWN BOSS Chad Damiani brings together some of his original exercises to explore what distinguishes LA modern clown from other forms of live comedy performance. An exploration of not only how games are created and played, but when it’s time to break all the rules.

Chad Damiani is one of the architects of the modern LA clown scene – a dynamic fusion of improv, sketch, stand-up and character with the fundamental principles of clown work. His unique approach to clowning has been covered by the New York Times, LA Times, Paris Review, PBS, NPR and most recently New York Magazine (out in late May).
   
He’s the creator and star of the hit podcast and live show STAND UP AND CLOWN – where he directs well-known comics through their first clown production. Chad is an ensemble member of STAMPTOWN - and featured in their upcoming Netflix special. He also tours with PIFF’S ALL-STAR VEGAS – a circus variety show that plays large venues all over North America. Chad’s been in a bunch of TV shows and movies (including DAVE and AGT) and started his career as a professional wrestling announcer for World Championship Wrestling.
