What if your favorite short form games could make you a stronger long form improviser? This 8-week advanced workshop is designed for experienced improvisers who want to deepen their long form skills through the precision, speed, and risk-taking of short form.
In this high-energy, challenging course, you’ll use short form structures as a powerful laboratory to develop:
- Faster and clearer scene initiations
- Stronger characters and bolder choices
- Game recognition and pattern building
- Commitment to unusual ideas and group support
- Emotional honesty in high-pressure situations
- Increased stage confidence and adaptability
Each week, you’ll explore how classic short form games can build the reflexes, trust, and technique that fuel excellent long form. You’ll also get plenty of stage reps and constructive feedback, so you can transfer these skills directly into your ensemble work.
Prerequisite: completion of SFI Level 4 or permission from the Artistic Director
