Unscripted comedy, scenes, characters and moments made up live for the culture. Come out and see Houston's finest celebrate black comedy, history and art.

Improv is good all the time. And all the time, improv is good. We're kicking the night off with improv comedy at its finest. 

Enjoy Play Too Much - an "all play" group made up of current Station Theater students, grads and alumni, followed by performances by Just Us and Can't Tell Us Nothing.

  • Can't Tell Us Nothing: "The Trillest Improv Group on Earth!!!" We take topics, suggestions & real stories to make improvised scenes right in front of you. CAST: Tandiwe Kone, Jon Myles, Amechi Ngwe, Antoine W.B.

For the Culture is a Black History Month event series created by Black students and performers from Station Theater, celebrating Black-led comedy and creative expression. The series takes place on Saturday, February 28 at Station Theater, located in Houston’s 5th Ward Cultural Arts District, a historic center for Black music, art, and storytelling that continues to shape the city’s creative voice.

Presented in this culturally significant neighborhood, For the Culture connects contemporary performance to a long tradition of creative leadership rooted in community and place.

The For The Culture planning committeeis proud to donate a portion of the proceeds from these shows to SHAPE Community Center’s TOGETHER BUILDING BACK BETTER Restoration Campaign, supporting their rebuilding efforts after their building was destroyed by fire last January.
All shows are BYOB!  Doors open 10 minutes before showtime.
